It began with a word: Sillage.

Sillage (see-yazh) is the French word for the fragrant trail that lingers in the air after someone passes by.

We loved the idea that fragrance could leave something behind—an impression, a feeling, a memory.

That idea became Sillage Botanique, a fragrance house inspired by the remarkable ability of scent to transport us. A familiar aroma can return us to somewhere we've loved, awaken a memory we thought we'd forgotten, or carry us somewhere we've never been at all.

We create scents inspired by places, nature, and the moments that stay with us—because sometimes, a journey begins simply by breathing in.

Inspired by a life of travel

Laura Nossal
Founder, Sillage Botanique

Travel has been a thread running through much of Laura’s life. After living overseas for 13 years and traveling to more than 80 countries, she came to appreciate how deeply scent becomes woven into our memories of a place—the scent of a pine forest after rain, spices spilling from a Middle Eastern market, salt on your skin after a dive, or blossoms carried on a warm evening breeze.

A teacher, writer, photographer, game developer, and lifelong traveler, Laura created Sillage Botanique from a desire to capture those sensory memories through fragrance. Each scent is an invitation to return somewhere meaningful—or discover somewhere you've only dreamed of going.
